Dear Liam and Francesca,

I guess you´ll be in bed again, tonight as it´s a bit late. Today, we travelled to Aveiro by train. It was an interesting journry and we travelled with Cajsa and Jeremy so there was four of us travelling together. Aveiro is about 2 hours by train, to the north of Lisbon and is quite a small town. We have to get to bed now as we have an early start tomorrow when the conference starts.

Dear Francesca and Liam,

I hope that you´re both well. We spent the day in Lisbon and, this evening, went to a talk and a workshop which a friend of our´s ran. It was in a museum which was a converted monastery, quite some way from the city centre. We went there on the tram and that was very interesting. The trams here are very old and very small and they look fantastic sitting high on the rails. On the way back, there was hardly any traffic so the tram went really fast and rocked about on the rails.

Dear Liam and Francesca,

We arrived in Lisbon safely after a long journey. Everything went well on the way , there were no problems. As we were getting on the aeroplane, they asked if anyione would be oprepared to have their hand luggage stowed in the plane´s hold and I took mine along. They then said thaty I could get onto the plane before all the other passengers which was graet as I could get a seat for Grandma and I together. However, as I was getting on, I realised that she might be wondering where I was so I rand her. She said that she wasn´t going to bother answering but did so at the last minute. When I talked to her, she told me that I had her baording pass and that she wouldn´t have been able to get on without it so I had to go back to take it to her. We still got a seat together so it was a good flight.

Dear Francesca and Liam,

Hope you´re both well. You´ll be getting your teas, I suppose. I´ve just put the finishing touches to my paper and I`m getting down to the packing.We don´t have to leave until late morning but I want to get everything ready for tomorrow.

Hello Liam and Francesca,

It’s another late night as I’m trying to get my paper finished. I’m going to pack up now as it’s after midnight. I went to a TSMB rehearsal tonight but got quite a bit of work done on the tube.

I’ve just been down to get a drink as I was quite thirsty and I looked in the fridge but the pear juice was nearly empty. I had to get some peach juice out and mix the two together. It reminded me of when you were younger, Francesca. Do you remember, you would drink it in the pink cup and it was called ‘mixed up in pink cup’. Everything we do reminds us of you two, you know.

Grandma had quite a long session on Skype today with Thomas and one of his friends. I’m sure she’d like to talk to you two that way. So would I. Perhaps one day, eh?

I’m off now, it’s late and I’m really tired so,

Dear Francesca and Liam,

Now, I know you’ll be in bed tonight as I’ve been working late on my paper. I think it’s pretty-well done. I have to check the order and stuff tomorrow.

Today, Grandma had a chat with Thomas and Lucy on Skype and I set him up to have a chat with my friend in Korea. I think that he liked that, talking to someone so far away. It was about 1 o’clock, lunch time when he called and Youngsook told him that it was already 11 o’clock in the evening over there. It’s amazing how you can do that and all for free.

I’d love to set it up for you so that we could have a chat.

Dear Liam and Francesca,

Hope you’ve had a good start to your weekend and that you’ve got something exciting planned for tomorrow. If it’s outside, you’d better wrap up really warm.

I’ve been in all day today working on my paper. I’ve had to learn how to do a few new things on my computer today and that takes up some time. Still, I’m getting on OK. Hopefully, tomorrow I will see some real progress.

Dear Francesca and Liam,

Back to the usual time but you might be up because it’s Friday.

We’ve not been in long as we’ve been visiting Thomas and Lucy. I made a robot with Thomas then we had dinner and I did some dancing with Lucy. I though that she’d never stop. My old knees were beginning to give way by the time we finished.

When I got in, I had a Skype call from a friend in Portugal. She’s organising the conference we’re going to next week. We’re both looking forward to that.

Dear Francesca and Liam,

I’ve just got in from Barnet Band so I guess you’re both tucked up in bed. It was my last rehearsal for a couple of weeks as we’re off to Portugal this time next week.

I was working on my paper for the conference today and it’s starting to take shape but there’s not much time left. Wish me luck!
